  I’ll start with a bottom-line description of Dr. Egbert— He is a prosthodontist with elite skills-- a true authority in dental reconstruction who often achieves success where others have failed, and who is frequently called on to train other dental specialists. With patients he is compassionate, maintaining the highest standards of honesty and integrity representing possibilities and options. But once he begins to execute a treatment plan he sets almost perfectionist standards for himself throughout the entire process. Most patients do not understand that success in dental reconstruction requires not only elite training and technical skills, but also a good bit of art. Dr. Jon sees each patient as an individual canvas, recognizing that each patient’s unique dental architecture and history require thoughtful and individualized planning and execution. With this level of skill and rigor, he achieves the best possible end-to-end smile, and importantly, one that will last. Dr. Jon developed my own 5-year treatment plan five years ago when we were both in Memphis, TN. That plan included ten implants, seventeen crowns, and a few root canals along the way for good measure. My condition was caused by the loss of teeth due to an MMSA sinus infection, further complicated by severe bruxism and clenching that had damaged my teeth during my adult years. I had always been afraid of dentists-- a true “denta-phobe”-- but when I met Dr. Jon he immediately put me at ease and quickly built trust with his candor, honesty, and empathy. That trust gave me the confidence to embark on the reconstructive journey. During my five years of treatment, Dr. Jon moved his practice to Layton, Utah and I moved to Delaware, but distance didn’t stop my treatment plan. Coordinating with Kristie, his office manager, I was able to schedule large blocks of treatment time so I could fly in and out all in one week. During that time, Dr. Jon removed teeth, performed bone grafts, placed implants and abutments, prepped crowns and placed them, all in a matter of three to four days. The coordination between his staff and his lab was extraordinary. They never missed a deadline and I always went home with my treatment plan moving to the next step. In April 2017 I flew to Utah for the final phase-- placement of a final implant and seven crowns. I can only say that the smile I wear now brims with true delight and happiness. As a professional working in higher education I interact with the public daily, and as anyone can imagine the last seven years have been very difficult—with tooth loss and temporary bridges causing me to “limit” my smile. As Dr. Jon was restoring my teeth and my smile, he was also restoring my self-confidence. Sometimes we don’t realize how closely related our physical appearance is to our self-confidence and our overall well-being. Dr. Jon “gets it”, and embraces the broader mission to restore the “whole” person. In summary, Dr. Jon Egbert is a five-star prosthodontic specialist. If you want someone who gives you the very best chance of sustainable success, choose Dr. Egbert. His skills, craft, compassion, and singular ability to relate with his patients set a standard others in his field can likely only envy.
